The Arnold Mills Parade Association will be celebrating its 94th Annual July Fourth Parade and 52nd in an unusual way. Because of our current State of Emergency/Covid 19 virus protocols, the parade will be a “wave parade” or “motorcade” throughout the major highways in the town and the road race will be a “virtual road race.”
Because we hold the health and safety of our participants and audience as primary in making our decision regarding the events of that day, we are being creative in our celebrations. Thus, we will have our Grand Marshal, Jack Thornhill, ride with some accompanying celebratory cars as well as patriotic music throughout our road ways.
The event route:
- Beginning at the state line at 10:00 AM, we will proceed down Nate Whipple Highway (Rte. 120) to Mendon Road (Rte. 122).
- We will take a left onto Mendon Road proceeding at a parade pace through the town to Ann & Hope Way.
- Taking the left at Ann & Hope Way, we will proceed to Broad Street, take a left at the site of the Catholic Oak, then take a right after the Blackstone Memorial to Blackstone Street.
- Arriving at High Street, we will take a left and proceed on High Street as it becomes Diamond Hill Road (Rte. 114) and proceed back to Nate Whipple Highway taking a right toward the North Attleboro line where we started.
The road race will be a virtual road race. The tri-chairpersons of the road race will be establishing the parameters of the event. More information is available.
